The truth is, Koorda didn't start as a business plan. It started with a friend.

For years, I'd heard the stories. Friends, family, and especially Gambians living abroad would tell me the same painful tales. Contractors who took deposits and disappeared. Land sellers who weren't who they claimed to be. Paperwork that dragged on for months. Dreams of building a home turning into stories of regret told over the phone.

Then my best friend since childhood, living in the West, decided he wanted to build a home back here. He needed someone he could trust, so I stepped in to help. When the day came to hand him the keys, I witnessed something I'll never forget. Pure joy. Gratitude I couldn't put into words. Something shifted in me that day. I knew I wanted to do this for as many people as possible.

Before construction, my voice was on the radio and screen. As a talk show host with GRTS, and through platforms like Giss Giss, people knew me before I'd ever broken ground on a building. But the standards that earned me trust on the air, showing up every day, communicating clearly, delivering what you promised, were exactly what Gambian construction was missing. So in 2019, I founded Koorda Construct Group.

Today, our team carries that same standard into every project we touch. Every time we hand a family the keys to their finished home, I see the joy I saw on my best friend's face that day. As a young Gambian entrepreneur, this work lets me contribute to my country in the most meaningful way I know how: creating jobs for our people, and helping fulfill the dreams of families who deserve to come home to a house built with care.
